Safe Surf Launch

Hi Everyone,

Monday was the launch of a pretty large project I have been working on. If you are in Calgary you can check it out at South Centre Mall all week. The are giving out nifty usb keys as well.

I believe education is something every artist must continue

So it's not very often that I like to post things that I am learning. I just finished a class with Bobby Chui online at Schoolism.com. It is a brilliant class. I had never digitally painted before this. I have been strictly very vector art so this is me fully exposed in a new medium....don't be to hard :(.

Assignment 1 - wow this is bad it was really hard to not describe things with one line!
Assignment Two - This one turned out Great! I got a 5/5 on this one I was pretty Proud
Assignment 3 - This one again was tricky
Assignment 4 - getting harder!
Assignment 5 - this one ws fun!

Assignment 6 -I liked this one! I did really well on this one as well! 5/5Assignment 7 - This one was more in my element I got a 5/5Assignment 8 & 9 - This one was hard but fun. I haven't got a grade yet

Hey Everyone! Things have been really busy. I just attended a Digital Alberta event in Banff this weekend. It was an incredible event. I had the pleasure to meet some AMAZING people.

And many others, from guest speakers to attendees it was an incredible experience.

The trip up, we drove to Lake Louise by mistake!!! On the way back on Sun we had the WORSE snow storm there was at least 15 vehicles turned flipped and crashed in the ditches some buried over 2 feet in the snow. The Banff center is amazing.

I have finished my online Class with Bobby Chui I will post all my work from his class at a later date. I highly recommend that any artist interested in learning digital painting take his course.

Hey There! So here is the start of posting daily these are two old pages from a sketch book I will be trying to post new stuff every day when I get busy I will post an older sketch but it will still be new to this blog! As most of my drawings these days are for clients it will be hard but I want to try and do it to keep my dreams of bigger and brighter opportunity's alive!

Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo 2007

Was Fantastic!
This was the first year that I had a booth. Having a booth gave me a whole new appreciation for our craft. I was very lucky to get a chance to Mingle with, Stephen Silver, Patrick Morgan, Humberto Ramos, , Joe Pekar, Bobby Chui,Tony Bancroft, Robert Picardo.....and more

Patrick Morgan-His friendly nature never ceases to amaze me. So talents so down to earth.
Humberto Ramos- On Friday at Coco brooks we got to chat. As always I am impressed with Ramos. Fantastic artist and great person. Great to Chat again!
Jose Lopez - I sat next to him during dinner and was able to chat like old friends. We had a booth across from each other, this year so we got to chat quit a bit. He is a super friendly guy. Thanks again for the sketch book!
Bobby Chui & Kei Acedera - Two brilliant Painters. So willing to help. I look forward to Bobby's online class this summer.
Tony Bancroft- What an amazing carrier this man has had. we talked for a while and found a mutual friend "Uncle Bill" I will tell him you say hello in my next e-mail.
Joe Pekar - I got his naughty Girl sketch book this year. He is a fantastic artist and a very approachable person. With a great sense of humor.
Robert Picardo - One of the most friendly actors I have ever meet. He was so comfortable and just EXTREMELY normal. Eating Pizza with everyone else. It was fantastic.

Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo

The countdown has begun. There is 27 days till comic con in Calgary. This year I am even more excited because I have my first booth!! Very exciting.....Also I am going to be on a Discussion panel!! Hey everyone! So I have been busy with the new job and preparation for the Calgary Comic and entertainment expo in April. If that weren’t enough I am managing the production fo my own game concept through the brilliant works of crowd sourcing at Cambrian House.
